A cacophony of anthrophonic, biophonic, and geophonic sounds co-opt iconic images of the natural world we have come to expect in the traditions of both landscape photography and documentary film. Visual knowledge is disrupted by failed attempts at inscription and their rapid dissolution. Spatiotemporal scales collapse in on themselves in a discomforting combination of extraction, technology, and erasure. How can we ever be consoled for such continual losses?
