How do we experience the land and its beings when their aural and physical phenomena co-opt image? When our failed inscriptions, and their rapid dissolution, are always already indelible? How can we be consoled for these continual losses?
Part of a multi-year collaboration with musician and composer Jessica Kilroy, An Irreconcilable Elegy is a poetic audiovisual exploration of human/nonhuman relations and the troubled landscapes of the American West. This 4:39-minute looping installation piece utilizes video, hand-drawn animation, microscopy, and immersive 8-channel sound composition. Also available in 5:1 or stereo non-looping (4:44) format for traditional screening.
